In this audio edition of TV Time Machine, we say, just the kovacs, ma’am, as we tune in to The Edie Adams Show. In this edition of our program, we are proud to welcome Josh Mills, the son of singer and TV star Edie Adams. From 1962-1964, Ms. Adams created, produced and starred in the ground-breaking variety show Here’s Edie after the death of her husband, TV legend Ernie Kovacs, and is probably best known as the commercial spokeswoman for Muriel Cigars.

In these audio segments, Josh Mills will tell the surprising and compelling story behind this brilliant and innovative TV series, which is now available on the DVD, Here’s Edie, The Edie Adams Television Collection. Mr. Mills also explores his mom’s passion for film and television preservation, and how she met legendary TV pioneer, comedian, and future husband Ernie Kovacs. Josh Mills also discusses how Ms. Adams and Ernie Kovacs created such innovative television together in the 1950’s, and what made the TV legend so appealing to Edie Adams.
