Chris Mann, one of the top four finalists from the second season of NBC’s The Voice, is interviewed by TV Time Machine host Jim Benson about the hit TV show and his album, Roads.

In this journey on the TV Time Machine, we ask you to turn up the volume, and listen to one of the more remarkable voices from the NBC television series of the same name. In this edition of our program, we are proud to welcome one of the top four finalists from the second season of The Voice, Chris Mann. As a member of Team Christina, Mr. Mann showcased his phenomenal vocal talents, launching his dynamic musical career.

In this segment, host Jim Benson and Chris Mann from NBC’s The Voice talk about Chris’s early musical journey that ultimately led to his auditioning for the hit TV show, and why his brand of performance stood out from others vying for a shot to become The Voice. Chris also reveals why he fought to sing Bocelli’s Because We Believe for his blind audition, the response from the coaches that he was hoping for during the blind audition, and what it was like when those chairs finally turned around for him.

Chris Mann audio interview Segment Two

For the second segment, host Jim Benson and Chris Mann discuss his coach, Christina Aguilera, and his experience being on Team Christina. Chris talks about his immediate connection with Christina, what surprised him most about working with such a musical legend, and the qualities that at times, give her a unique advantage as a coach on The Voice. Chris also discusses what it’s like experiencing near-instant fame, working with Team Christina members as Lindsey Pavao and Ashley De La Rosa, and the most fulfilling and challenging aspects of being on The Voice.

Chris also talks about the creative and strategic reasons that led to his decision to perform Coldplay’s Viva La Vida on the program, and his thoughts, feelings, and experiences during perhaps his finest performance on The Voice, singing the classic, Ave Maria.

Chris Mann audio interview Segment Three

For the final segment, host Jim Benson and Chris Mann talk about what is was like having his dreamed fulfilled on The Voice, singing The Prayer with his coach, Christina Aguilera. Chris also talks about performing his final song for the competition, You Raise Me Up, rooming with the eventual winner of The Voice, Jermaine Paul, and the care and attention that must be taken for his own voice that is necessary for a performer.

Finally, Chris Mann discusses the creation of his current album Roads, including performing a duet of Blowers Daughter for the record with Christina Aguilera, and re-working Frank Sinatra’s classic My Way, with new lyrics written specifically for Chris by Paul Anka, the song’s original writer.
